Lavendon, which trades as Nationwide Platforms, has awarded Wincanton a five year contract to deliver products to customers around the UK.
Wincanton is replacing Lavendon?s in-house logistics operation. Staff working on Lavendon’s existing in-house operations will transfer across to Wincanton.
The contract starts in January 2015. Wincanton will collect products from all 26 of Lavendon’s UK storage facilities, from Aberdeen to Liskeard, before delivering them to customers across the country.

Lavendon provides rental of specialist powered mobile elevated work platforms to a range of sectors including construction, telecommunications, facilities management and arboreal. Managing director Jeremy Fish said: “At Nationwide Platforms we are continually striving to improve the service we provide to customers. The new partnership with Wincanton is going to help us achieve this.
“The switch-over is expected to be virtually un-noticed by customers, who will see little difference in the people and vehicles they are used to. Going forwards, however, we expect to see real improvements in on-time deliveries, reduced collection lead times and increased communication.?
