Lewis Hamilton didn’t just win the Formula 1 drivers’s championship in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, he also won DHL’s Fast Lap Award. Hamilton scored seven fastest laps during the season ahead of team-mate Nico Rosberg’s five.

He was presented with the award by Ken Allen, chief executive officer of DHL Express, before the start of the grand prix. Hamilton said: “We don’t get any extra points for fastest laps – but it’s always a proud moment when you see that you set the fastest time. I’m very proud to accept this fastest lap trophy – but hope that it’s just the first big trophy I will get my hands on today.”
