Norfolk-based Banham Poultry has taken delivery of 24 new trucks and trailers on contract hire from Fraikin.
The deal covers 15 DAF XF 6×2 tractor units, seven tri-axle Gray & Adams refrigerated trailers, and two 32-tonne DAF rigid chick carriers.
The vehicles, which will be based at the company’s headquarters in Attleborough, replace older vehicles.
Banham fleet manager Nigel Warnes said: “Fraikin was the first supplier to introduce us to contract hire, purchasing our commercial vehicle fleet when the poultry industry was struggling, and highlighting how leasing the vehicles was a more cost-effective and flexible approach. Since then, we’ve never looked back.
Banham is both a customer and a supplier –Fraikin uses Banham’s own workshops to provide the maintenance and tyre husbandry for the trucks and trailers.
