It’s just a couple of days to our live web TV debate on Sales and Operations Planning which can streamline supply chain operations and reduce inventories
Many companies are not seeing the full potential of the process so we will be asking our panel of experts to focus on some of the critical issues including:
* Have the goals of S&OP changed in the past 12 months and is there an increased focus on this process. Could S&OP be the tool of the moment for trimming inventories?
* Globalisation has increased supply chain complexity and has this affected the frequency with which planning needs to take place?
* What factors need to be considered in a successful S&OP process – granularity, speed, and so on and how do you deal with factors over which you have little or no control?
The debate, which we are organising in association with Oracle, takes place on Thursday 9th July at 3pm. Speakers include:
Dave Anning, director of global supply chain at Smiths Medical. Dave has been at the heart of the supply chain transformation at Smiths Medical, a global provider of medical equipment with over 7,500 people and manufacturing plants in the UK, US, Mexico & Italy.
Dr Janet Godsell, senior research fellow – logistics and supply chain management at Cranfield University School of Management, Prior to joining the Cranfield faculty, Janet was at Dyson where she undertook a number of operational and process improvement roles in functions spanning the breadth of the supply chain.
Andrew Spence, business development director, supply chain management at Oracle. Andrew is an experienced supply chain manager having worked in GEC and Marconi in the UK developing and managing lean supply chain processes in the high tech sector.
The debate will be hosted by Nick Allen, our contributing editor supply chain, and the format allows viewers to participate and ask questions of the speakers.
