NYK Logistics (UK) Consumer & Retail, formerly New Wave Logistics, has invested in a new warehouse at Avonmouth. The £170,000 project provides the company, which is part of the NYK Logistics group, with 5,110sq m of storage space, including 465sq m of racking.
Around 30 new jobs have been created, bringing the total number of employees at the site to 44.
The facility offers high-quality secure pallet storage and a quick turnaround for cross-docking operations of non-hazardous goods. Container management, loading, export and distribution services are all available. Twenty-two distribution vehicles are based at the site, with daily trunks to the Midlands and North-west.
The company’s operations director, Rohan Morris, says: “The new Avonmouth warehouse will provide significant benefits for existing and potential customers. We have already helped to streamline supply chains and improve delivery times. Our clients in the food industry have benefited from a next-day delivery service for the South-west and Wales.”
