Redman Heenan Properties, part of St Modwen Properties, has secured planning consent for a further 20 acres of vehicle storage on the former runways at its Thurleigh Airfield Business Park in Bedford.
The extra space, which will be carefully landscaped, will support several existing tenants on the 1,250-acre business park in the investment they have made to expand their businesses.
St Modwen took over the former airfield from the Ministry of Defence five years ago. The park hosts three major vehicle logistics operators and ex-Formula One driver Jonathan Palmer’s car race circuit. St Modwen says it has worked closely with Bedford Borough Council to create a facility “ideal for the operator requiring a secure high quality open environment”.
