BP has selected third-party logistics provider Exel to manage the 24-hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week consolidated distribution of frozen, chilled, and ambient goods to its 340-plus forecourt stores in the UK. Exel is creating a 15,163sq m dedicated National Distribution Centre (NDC) at Magna Park, Lutterworth to provide an extensive range of the warehouse and distribution management services for BP.
The reliable and cost-effective supply of goods to BP forecourt stores is important to support the ongoing development and growth of the oil company’s convenience offer and enable BP to continue to meet the growing needs of its customers.
Andy Davis, BP UK Retail’s trading director, says: “BP Retail, through its forecourt stores, is continually looking at ways of improving the offer to the customer and at the same time meeting customer demand for convenience goods 24-hours-a-day.”
Also, Exel showed commitment to drive ongoing improvements in end-to-end supply chain efficiency and operating costs.
