Savoye Logistics says its automated pallet storage system can now be fitted into existing standard warehouses and distribution centres because of recent design advances. The development, says Savoye, means there is a realistic automated alternative to very narrow aisle equipment.
The Magmatic system was formerly limited to bespoke high-bay, rack-clad buildings but engineering developments now allow the system to be installed using a lower cost, modular racking support structure, similar to conventional pallet racking. A more simple and economic solution, Full Service Magmatic is ideal for high pallet throughput applications in standard warehouses.
Magmatic offers storage and retrieval flexibility using autonomous battery-powered vehicles running through the racking structure, each able to access any pallet position at any time. The system can respond instantly to changes in work pattern or sudden demands while remaining completely unaffected should one unit be out of service for regular maintenance.
Systems can be designed to accommodate either Chep or Euro pallets, and Magmatic can operate in chilled or cold stores
