Nampak Plastics Europe, which manufactures rigid plastic packaging, has awarded a five-year, £4.4M contract hire deal with truck and trailer rental specialist Hill Hire. The deal involves 170 bespoke stepframe curtainsiders, 40 straightframe curtainsiders and a further 30 Mercedes-Benz Axor tractor units.
Hill Hire worked closely with vehicle bodybuilding specialist Lawrence David to custom-design and build the equipment specifically for Nampak, calling on previous experience and the latest modern technology to meet the needs of the customer. Due to the nature of Nampak’s products, often lightweight plastic packaging, Hill Hire and Lawrence David decided to fit the trailers with the ECO stability system – preventing tipping over whilst navigating tight bends and roundabouts.
