Arca Systems has launched two new Euro containers. Both will work within the Euro and ISO pallet systems and two sizes of the Euro box are being produced. It is believed that one-piece Euro boxes of this size “are unique” to Arca.
Available in 800mm x 400mm x 200mm and 1,000mm x 400mm x 214mm sizes, the Euro containers will be used primarily to ship components within the automotive industry. Individual lids are available to protect the contents of the containers from damage and tampering.
Produced by using an injection moulding process, the containers have excellent strength and durability. This process also gives them very good dimensional stability, an important issue if lids are to be used or when stacking full containers.
The containers also feature ergonomically designed hand-grips. These promote ease of handling, and mean that the container is far easier to manoeuvre than older steel and wood containers which, according to the HSE, are a cause of many occupational injuries.
The boxes’ design has enabled Arca to mould the Odette label holder into the box and house a credit card size RFID tag. The RFID tag means extensive information about the box contents can be stored to provide excellent traceability throughout the supply chain and reduce loss and damage.
