TOA has awarded a major contract to Meachers Group Holdings which sees the logistics company providing an entire supply chain network, including warehousing, inventory control, transport and freight forwarding, to the Japanese-based international procurement company’s Singapore offices.
A wide variety of products are handled by TOA including electronic components, insulation materials, home appliances, televisions and plastic parts.
Meachers’ freight forwarding arm, Oast Agencies, is organising for TOA the shipping, documentation and import of hundreds of pallets a month from China to the Port of Southampton. The pallets, containing electronic components, are then transported to Meachers’ warehouse facility at Nursling, Southampton for de-vanning, storage and onward distribution to TOA’s customers in the UK, including Sanyo, Toshiba and Matsushita.
Nancy Mah, senior corporate executive at TOA, says: “We are very pleased with Meachers Group Holdings, and the services they are supplying to us. Their computerised inventory control has been very efficient, and they have provided us with a very reliable service organised by extremely helpful staff.”
