For hundreds of years, horse racing has been known as the sport of kings but not any more – it is now the sport of LOGISTICS.
Readers who like the occasional flutter will be interested to learn that the Logistics Link North ‘National Hunt’ Novice Hurdle Race was held at Doncaster Racecourse on Monday January 17, 2005. The race on the course where the St Leger, the world’s oldest Classic race dating back to 1776 is held, was believed to be the first of its kind named after a major logistics event. The race, run over two and a half furlongs, was named after Logistics Manager’s very own Logistics Link exhibition winners.
Richard Milbourn, organiser of the Logistics Link exhibitions, was on hand to present the prize to the winning owner.
