Ashton Moss developers AMEC and Stayley have signed a contract with Norbain SD, one of Europe’s largest distributors of CCTV and Access Control equipment, to open a new multimillion pound purpose-built warehouse to accommodate its future expansion plans.
Norbain is taking a 15-year lease on the 4,770sq m new warehouse, which is over twice the size and twice the height of Norbain’s current distribution centre five miles away in Bredbury, Stockport. An additional 1,858sq m of land is being leased at the 3.88 acre site alongside the plot to future proof the investment.
AMEC has started work on the unit and Norbain SD expects it 30-strong staff to be operational from Ashton Moss by August 2005.
Dermot Grace, managing director of Norbain SD, says: “Ashton Moss provides us with the opportunity to design and build a distribution centre specific to the needs of our business and our staff. It will support our plans for sustained growth well into the future and reflects the enormous confidence we have in our people to continue to grow the business.”
King Sturge acted for AMEC and Knight Frank represented Norbain SD.
