Online freight and vehicle exchange Teleroute has created Teleroute Integrated Solutions (TIS), a new business unit dedicated to delivering complete electronic workflow solutions that will improve collaboration between large logistics companies and their network of transport providers. TIS was formed after Teleroute identified a need for improved communication between its customers and their contractual transport providers.
The new operation will work closely with key account customers to develop workflow solutions to maximise efficiency in communication. Teleroute will use the technology and expertise in freight management process services of its partner, Transwide, to offer innovative solutions that address the direct needs of the industry.
TIS proposes an integrated suite of services covering the entire freight management workflow – from freight allocation, through transport execution follow-up to flexible reporting for Key Performance Indicator tracking. The modular tools can be integrated seamlessly into different IT infrastructures in a secure ASP (Application Service Provider) environment.
Stuart Hearn, Teleroute UK’s strategic key account director, says: “The new products within the Teleroute Integrated Solutions portfolio are proving to be extremely interesting to the leading 3PL and 4PL companies. We are in discussion with nearly every major player within the Lead Logistics Provider sector, and there are some 600-plus transport providers already connected to our technology.”
He continues: “The issue of shipments ‘disappearing’ once passed from a LLP to a subcontractor can now be addressed through a common, web-based platform, giving full shipment visibility to LLPs, transport providers, consignors and consignees.”
