TrenStar has sold its barcode labelling and printing division in the UK – the Label Store – to John Crow Holdings. The Label Store (UK), as it is now known, provides a manufacturing capacity for John Crow Holdings, a group of companies including Mediamec, a value-added reseller of thermal labels and ribbons. Greg Cronin, TrenStar chief executive officer, says: “This sale is part of our overall strategy to focus on the core business of mobile asset management.”
Pointsec Mobile Technologies, a global leader and the provider of the de facto standard for enterprise security software for laptop and desktop PCs, PDAs and smartphones, today announced a global contract with ABB, a world leader in power and automation technologies. As a result, Pointsec’s security solution for PDAs and smartphones becomes a corporate standard for mobile data protection, available to ABB units worldwide. The contract specifies fixed terms and conditions for orders and shipments based on an implementation plan that spans several years.
Supermarket chain Sainsbury’s has awarded a seasonal contract to Christian Salvesen which signals a further expansion by the 3PL into the temperature-controlled retail distribution sector. Based at Salvesen’s Rugby facility, the deal is for the provision of warehousing services for long and short shelf life chilled products. Salvesen is providing a 24/7 service including the provision of all colleagues to manage product receipts, order picking, out-loading and managing returns from retail stores.
