WHS Halo, one of the UK’s biggest PVC-U extruders for the window industry, has taken delivery of six multi-directional sideloaders from Sidetracker Engineering for its national distribution centre near Birmingham. The order is worth £300,000.
The centre holds 2,000 product lines, and the company wants to deliver full orders to customers within 24 hours. The trucks are used to block-stack stillages arriving from extrusion and lamination plants, replenish the 9m-high cantilever racking used for live storage and carry picked material to the despatch area for consolidation into complete loads for customers.
They have a 9m lift height, a maximum load capacity of three tonnes, 1,200mm long forks and are 2,100mm wide, allowing them to operate quickly and safely in the 2.2m aisles in the cantilever racking.
