Bovis Homes has submitted a planning application for a major 681 acre mixed use extension to Wellingborough town. The scheme, known as Wellingborough East, will provide a substantial expansion to the Northamptonshire town over the next ten to 15 years.
Wellingborough East includes:
58 acres of office/R&D accommodation (B1).
32 acres of light/general industrial (B1 & B2) development
77 acres of distribution warehousing (B8) – part of which can be for rail-related uses.
Paul Boatman, area projects director of Bovis Homes Central Region, says: “As well as providing new homes, Wellingborough has great scope to become one of the region’s major business destinations with direct links to the M1, A1(M) and A14, excellent rail connections into London and a location within the distribution industry’s ‘golden triangle’. The size of potential office and industrial accommodation here means that there is scope for national relocations and new headquarters offices as well as regional and local opportunities.”
