When specialist ski and outdoor retailer Snow+Rock encountered the problem of maximising space and accommodating different sizes and shapes, it turned to Hi-Lo Storage Systems to provide a solution. Hi-Lo has intalled Premierack Multi-Tier racking at Snow+Rock’s new 3,800sq m warehouse and office complex in Guildford, Surrey.
The racking enables efficient and easy access to a wide range of products including skis, snowboards, camping equipment and clothing.
Undertaking as a joint partnership between Hi-Lo and its distributor, Angleton, the Multi-Tier racking was chosen for its flexibility by providing shelving and walkways for pedestrians. The racking, which can store a wide variety of packaged goods for fast and easy picking, has been installed on the ground level as well as two mezzanine floors.
Heavier items such as boards, skis and camping equipment are housed on the ground floor while the second floor is dedicated to hanging garments and the top floor is fitted out to hold smaller items and archived material.
The system is efficient and easily accessible and maximises all available headroom whilst still allowing for free order picking and stock movement in and out. Goods are picked for onward distribution to Snow+Rock’s 11 retail outlets as well as to meet orders placed through its telesales and web-based sales operation.
