Convenience retailer the Co-operative Group (CWS) has selected Manhattan Associates’ Integrated Logistics Solution for Retail to help automate and improve its supply chain of the future. The Co-op’s selection of Manhattan’s trading partner management, warehouse management, slot optimisation, labour management, billing management, transport planning and execution, and performance management solutions will provide it with the supply chain technologies that will support its future business strategy. The drivers in the Co-op’s decision to re-engineer its supply chain include a need to improve on-shelf availability and enhance operational effectiveness throughout its source-to-store supply chain network.
WH Smith Travel has awarded a £7M contract to Torex Retail to provide full IT outsourcing services. The contract, which runs until 2007, represents a significant renewal for Torex and follows the successful provision of this service to WH Smith Travel over the past four years. The WH Smith Travel deal sees Torex providing all outsourced IT services for more than 130 retail stores at airports and railway stations nationwide as well as servicing the company’s national distribution centre in Birmingham and head office in central London. Torex continues to provide all systems and support for EPoS, warehouse management and head office finance and merchandising.
Paper Mart, has chosen SSA GlobaL to streamline its supply chain planning and execution processes. Paper Mart required a Supply Chain Management (SCM) solution to address warehouse management, replenishment and forecasting needs. The integration of SSA’s SCM will help manage its warehouse operations and facilities to improve the flow of information, purchasing and forecasting. This will improve customer service and productivity for Paper Mart, which has 10,000 products available online.
