Envelopes supplier Chapman Envelopes has expanded its fleet of Atlet Omni DCR man-rising stacker / order pickers in order to increase the speed and efficiency of order picking at its plant in Darwen, Lancashire.
Two of the latest generation Omni DCRs work in a new in-plant warehouse, which has replaced three previous stores. Chapman, part of French group GPV, had used earlier-model Omni DCRs in the old warehouses
Commenting on the latest additions, Chapman warehouse and distribution manager Paul Crossland says: “The trucks are fast, highly responsive and exceptionally stable, and they enable us to pick from any location in the racking. This makes order picking easier, more flexible, much quicker and more accurate. We have also been able to deploy labour much more cost-effectively, and substantially reduce the time and manpower needed for stocktaking.”
