Logistics provider Meachers Group Holdings has invested in new vehicles for its Derby depot to cater for increased business won over the past six months. Meachers has increased its fleet by a fifth and has also employed several new drivers.
Enlargement of the fleet in Derby is part of an overall expansion by Meachers in the Midlands area having accrued several major contract wins in industries ranging from aggregates to food and drink. Most recently it became the exclusive logistics provider for BMSS 2004 Conference and Exhibition as well as additional business with Encase.
Meachers has invested more than £500,000 in the past 12 months in new tractor units and trailers. It now operates an extensive range of equipment including 44-tonne articulated vehicles, curtainsided rigids, trailers and tail-lift vehicles.
