European logistics property developer Gazeley has received planning consent from Sheffield City Council for its new £50M industrial and distribution park in Sheffield. The site, comprising 48 acres, is located in Shepcote Lane, less than a mile from the M1’s J34 (Meadowhall) and within two miles of J33 (Sheffield Parkway).
Printing company Polestar Group has already signed a pre-let agreement for the development of its new European gravure facility – a high-tech “intaglio” printing process that operates the fastest and widest printing presses – at the site. The first phase of the facility will total 43,225sq m and will have the ability to expand up to 60,386sq m in the future. Now that the council has granted consent, construction of the facility can go ahead with completion scheduled for December 2004.
The rest of the park, comprising about 20 acres, has detailed consent for two units of 25,083sq m and 15,050sq m respectively occupation of which are expected by early 2005 if required.
Gazeley has appointed NAI Fuller Peiser’s Sheffield office and C2G as joint letting agents for the scheme.
