Petro-Canada is having a new UK distribution solution being designed by Christian Salvesen, as part of a service order agreement. The solution enables Petro-Canada, one of the world’s leading producers of lubricants, specialty fluids and greases, to expand within target industrial markets.
The contract is part of Petro-Canada’s strategic decision to grow sales of its 350 solution-based products within the food, automotive parts, and plastics processing machinery sectors in the UK. The company boasts 99.9% pure, base, base oils using patented purifying process to remove contamination that could hinder performance and ensure products retain their fresh oil properties for longer.
Salvesen will store Petro-Canada’s industrial packaged lubricant products initially at its Rowley Regis depot in the West Midlands for next-day distribution using its shared-user network across the UK. Drawing on capacity within Salvesen’s network, it will support Petro-Canada’s planned growth in business volumes over the next five years. Petro-Canada will benefit from Salvesen’s in-house track and trace technology, SHARPNet, giving online visibility of the status of consignments to customers and Salvesen’s warehouse management system, ULTIMA.
Martin Wright, UK managing director, Petro-Canada Europe, says: “The flexibility of the Salvesen solution is a critical component in delivering target service levels to customers and realising Petro-Canada’s growth strategy over the next five years. Fundamental is Salvesen’s ability to provide cost-effective, reliable next-day delivery anywhere in the UK, which can expand to meet changes in demand.”
