NYK Logistics (UK) Consumer & Retail is storing and distributing more than £100M of products a year on behalf of sit-up, the interactive-TV content provider. Through its bid-up.tv and price-drop.tv channels, broadcast on satellite, cable and Freeview television, sit-up sells a wide range of products, including electrical goods, household products, clothing, sports equipment, jewellery and watches, toys, collectibles and accessories.
The Acton, west London-based company broadcasts live output 17-hours a day to consumers in 10.5 million homes in the UK across both channels.
The three-year deal has created 150 new jobs at NYK Logistics (UK) Consumer & Retail’s Grange Park distribution centre in Northamptonshire. Within the facility, there is a 9,290sq m dedicated area, and around 3,000 different product lines will be stocked in the peak trading period of October to December. Around 500 new products are introduced each month.
NYK Logistics has invested in a Manhattan PkMS warehouse management system to ensure that all despatches via multiple parcel carriers are fully integrated. sit-up has demanding logistics requirements, which are driven by its TV channel schedules and goods must be accurately picked and despatched to customers on time to meet delivery promises. This requires a flexible service.

A range of KPIs (key performance indicators) has been agreed ensuring accurate on-time deliveries, maintenance of accurate inventory and quick response to customer queries.
