In the first significant expansion since it successfully floated on the AIM market at the end of 2003, specialist container supplier Straight has formed a new materials handling division. The move enables the Leeds-based supplier to the recycling and waste management industry to offer a wide range of current and new container solutions to UK and European markets, including plastic pallets, supply chain containers and new crates and baskets for the bakery, beverage and dairy sectors.
Straight, which estimates the UK market to be worth in excess of £80M a year, is partnering the Rehrig Pacific Company of Los Angeles, a world-leading manufacturer of reusable plastic crates and pallets for the food and beverages markets.
Rehrig designs and manufactures products for global companies such as CHEP, Wal-Mart, Hays Logistics, Anheuser-Busch and both Coca-Cola and Pepsi Cola bottlers.
