British Airways Regional Cargo (BARC) is using MultiFreight, the freight software package from SCS, as the standard application for the newly enlarged company. The Dunwoody Airline Services Limited / British Airways World Cargo company realises that for maximum efficiency a single, integrated, Windows-based system is essential. The company’s initial expectation was that any off-the-shelf package would satisfy only around 20% of the specification and that considerable bespoke work would then be needed to tailor this to perform all the ‘want list’ functions.
Pet products wholesaler Pedigree Wholesale is investing in an 88 user Accord Distribution system from supply chain solutions specialist Business Computer Projects (BCP). Pedigree provides a complete range of pet and aquatic products for pet shop and specialist outlets, serving about 1,500 retailers across England and Wales via its five depots. Its investment in new technology encompasses the complete Accord solution including purchasing, sales order management, telesales, warehouse management and financial accounting. The telesales feature and voice-activated WMS were key to securing the contract. The WMS will used at Pedigree’s main distribution centre in Nottingham.
Magic Software Enterprises has won a £109,000-plus contract with Denholm Logistics to upgrade freight and haulage systems using eDeveloper 9.4, Magic’s unique application development environment. The project will enable Denholm to offer even higher levels of service to its wide range of international freight forwarding and road haulage clients through enhanced functionality and streamlined processes. It also positions Denholm to offer closer integration with third-party software systems.
