Maro Developments has submitted a planning application to Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council to develop a £30M, 55,800sq m B2/B8 development at Carrington First in Manchester Road, Carrington. Formerly the Carrington Power Station, the regeneration of this brownfield site could create about 1,000 jobs.
Located near the M60’s J8, the site comprises a net developable area of 32 acres and is one of only a handful of sites in the North-west in single ownership that can accommodate a single building of more than 46,500sq m.
Sara-Jane Preston, partner at sole agent NAI Fuller Peiser, says: “Carrington First is here to provide much needed competition to the established Trafford Park Industrial Estate. We believe it is the biggest site in single ownership within the Borough of Trafford which is immediately available for development.”
Preston continues: “As Maro Developments are able to offer freehold or leasehold tenure, we anticipate a very healthy level of demand. We can accommodate units from 20,000sq ft upwards, and are already in discussion with a number of parties – both manufacturing and distribution operators – whom will all create much needed jobs for Carrington / Partington and the Borough of Trafford as a whole.”
