The new K1.0L mid-range order picker from Hyster has been produced after a lengthy consultation with the retail industry. In line with Hyster’s policy of ensuring that its products specifically meet customers’ needs, the K1.0L incorporates the features and options customers require in a warehouse truck of this type including a choice of different fork configurations, excellent manoeuvrability and performance, and ergonomics designed to enhance driver productivity.
The K1.0L offers a choice of fork or walk-on options. Three of the six models in the range provide a supplementary lift facility; two offer a walk-on pallet capability: and one model incorporates fixed forks. There is a further choice of ten different alternatives within the fork options available, five pallet fork types and five FEM fork types. Manual lowering override and safety rope are also available on certain models plus an emergency ‘stop’ facility on lowering forks.
The order picker’s SEM motor gives it “unbeatable” traction, which is translated into excellent travel and lifting speeds (with speed reduction on cornering for extra security). There is a choice of pre-set performance modes, and the K1.0L has been designed to give high manoeuvrability, complete with a diagonal travel capability. The latest battery technology ensures that its smaller, more compact charger. Hyster has also employed an easy-glide battery roller to reduce downtime to a minimum at a battery change-over.
Operator ergonomics feature strongly on the new K1.0L. It offers good visibility along with fingertip controls for lifting and lowering and incorporates a special Hyster creep button for traction and lift. There is good platform space with a low step floor for easier mounting and dismounting, and a see at-at-a-glance, ‘full information’ display. A major consideration has been the promotion of safe operation so features such as a loud horn supplemented by a reverse horn, and even a quick release, battery disconnect mushroom have been built in on this series.
