n The RSW Group, a major importer, distributor and retailer of housewares, stationery, toys, baby products and Christmas crackers, has selected LXE’s new MX6 mobile handheld computer to automate its warehouse processes. Based from its 22,320sq m distribution centre in Rochdale, RSW is implementing the MX6 mobile handheld computer as part of an ongoing project to automate its entire supply chain.
n Integrating with its warehouse management system (WMS), RSW’s Paul Rubens believes the mobile computer will instantly improve productivity. Rubens explains: “Due to LXE’s terminal emulation integrating immediately into the existing Unix-based system on site, we will have the MX6 units up and running in as little as two to three weeks from delivery. The timescale was very important to us as our existing paper-based systems are not efficient enough to cope with the service levels that are required in today’s highly competitive market place. Being adopted so quickly by the users will mean we start seeing the benefits immediately.”
n RSW chose the MX6 because it offered the latest technology architecture and design available today, incorporating Adaptus Imaging Technology, and Intel XScale processor and Microsoft Pocket PC 2002.
