Mapei UK, part of the Italian Mapei group which is manufactures and distributes chemical building products, has settled into its new 6,038sq m premises on the 43-acre Coombs Wood Business Park, Halesowen. The company chose Coombs Wood, which is being developed by St Modwen Developments, the development subsidiary of St Modwen properties, in a venture with Corus, because of its strategic location.
It has relocated its existing sales and department from Briery Hill to the new £4m combined manufacturing, distribution and office complex at Coombs Wood, which initially has created 20 new jobs.
Rupert Joseland, of St Modwen, says that Mapei’s choice of Coombs Wood for its new facility confirms the site’s status as the leading business park in the area. “We continue to attract new occupiers with two transactions currently in solicitors’ hands and a planning application having been made for four speculative units,” he says.
Other recent new occupiers on the business park include Headstock Distribution, Solid Auto and Standfast Displays.
