Fraikin has won its first contract hire deal with Antalis to supply 22 vehicles for its 250-strong fleet, which is used to distribute a wide range of paper-related products from its local and regional depots to customers nationwide. The delivery is comprised solely of Mercedes-Benz Ategos and includes 16 7.5-tonners, three 13-tonners and three 18-tonners, each fitted with box bodies and tail-lifts.
The deal with Fraikin covers each of the vehicles for between 30,000 and 40,000 miles a year over a seven-year period, and includes full servicing, inspection, repair & maintenance, road fund licensing, breakdown support, tyres, and fleet management.
“Paper is a very heavy product to transport and our vehicles normally start a distribution run at around 80% of their maximum payload,” explains Dave Black, fleet manager. “Operating at this capacity in an urban environment puts a lot of strain on the vehicles, but past experience has proven the Atego to be reliable.”
_œ Fraikin has supplied Encon Insulation with 46 new trucks over the past 12 months, including ten 32 tonne Daf CF 8×4 rigids. The delivery includes a mixture of replacement and additional vehicles, representing a growth in fleet size of 20%. Each of the new trucks have been supplied on a five-year contract hire deal and join a fleet totalling 115 commercial vehicles and 50 rear-mounted Moffett forklift trucks, supplied solely by Fraikin.
