Cert Logistics, the bonded warehouse operator, has won a contract to be food manufacturer Snacks Unlimited’s logistics partner for the storage and distribution of raw ingredients, materials and finished products in the UK. Snacks Unlimited, part of the Big Thoughts Group, specialises in producing low fat premium snacks to retailers throughput the UK, including Marks & Spencer, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Asda.
The contract will be based at Cert’s 8,649sq m shared-user distribution centre in Dunstable and will see it manage the warehousing operations and distribution of Snacks Unlimited’s raw ingredients and materials. Cert will provide a daily trunking operation of ingredients and packaging from Dunstable to Snacks Unlimited’s manufacturing site in North London and re-load with their finished products.
Cert will also provide warehousing and delivery, via its transport network, of finished products collected from Snacks Unlimited’s manufacturing site in north London for shipment to retail customers.
Ed Hill, general manager at Snacks Unlimited comments: “We recognised we were not logistics specialists at an early stage but we wanted to work with a logistics partner who could tailor a service around our own customer led needs, from inbound raw material handling and streamlining of finished goods distribution, to information flow across other areas of our business through the use of Cert Logistics capability.”
