Innov@te Logistics has secured a significant contract with chilled food manufacturer Eden Vale, increasing the output from its busy Nottingham operation by almost 25%. The business win is “a real coup” according to Nottingham’s operations manager, Richard Couch, who led the negotiation team and inspired the workforce to pull out all the stops and ensure a seamless change over Eden Vale’s previous supplier.
“Innov@te Logistics is rightfully proud of the reputation it holds in the industry. We didn’t have to tout for the business; Eden Vale approached us following a recommendation from the Northern Foods Transport. Quality work gets quality recognition and that’s what we’re all about,” says Couch.
Eden Vale recently completed a successful trial using Innov@te’s J29/M1 Chesterfield distribution centre to freeze desserts using the company’s sleeving and spray date coding operation to storage.
The manufacturer has also signed a further contract with Innov@te to have exclusive use of the first of the company’s state-of-the-art three double-decked trailers (pictured). The trailers have been purpose built to Innov@te’s own specification and can move up to 48 pallets at once. Inside the 16ft tall body of the vehicle is a moving platform which allows the pallets to be easily loaded and then secured in two tiers.
Couch says: “Now that we operate under the Innovate Logistics banner, we can offer our customers much, much more. I’m delighted that Eden Vale is reaping the rewards and making the most of our excellent service mix.”
