Healthcare Logistics, which specialises in the pharmaceuticals distribution sector, has placed a second major contract with Anglo Holt Construction (AHC) to purpose-built an 11,000sq m warehouse and distribution facility alongside an existing logistics and administration centre at Prospect Park, Bedford.
The contract is worth nearly £6M and follows a similar construction project valued at £5.2M completed in 2002. AHC built the existing 10,000sq m facility and will now build the 13.5m tall high-bay “big brother” warehouse. The new addition will share management, staff and systems with the existing building.
As in the earlier contract, AHC acting as main contractor will be responsible for extensive mechanical and electrical installations including ambient temperature control, sprinkler systems and complete fit-out of racking capable of holding 22,000 pallets.
The warehouse is expected to be handed over to Healthcare Logistics in June.
