JCB has added a new 3.5 tonnes lift capacity machine to its Teletruk range of forward reach telescopic boom industrial forklifts. The new two-wheel-drive model – TLT 35D – offers more lift capacity to greater height than current models, and is powered by a higher rated (45kW) diesel engine. It joins the JCB Teletruk stable of 2.5 and 3 tonnes capacity two-wheel-drive machines, together with a 3 tonnes capacity four-wheel-drive machine.
The additional 0.5 tonnes load capacity over the TLT 30D comes with only a very marginal increase in a machine length of 250mm (to 3,000mm from 2,750mm TLT 30D).
JCB says that the TLT 35D offers significant advantages for lorry loading with the uprated capacity of 2.1 tonnes at 2m forwards reach, which means end-users handling heavier loads can enjoy the benefits of single-side loading. Like all Teletruks the TLT 35D is equally at home with a variety of quick-change attachments, particularly shovels which generally do not work well on ordinary masted forklifts.
Along with the TLT 35D launch, the whole Teletruk range has the new ‘Slimline’ telescopic boom design which is 15% similar to give the operator better visibility of fork lift tips.
The Teletruk range is also equipped with a new cab structure which is curved. This fully conforms to two international safety standards – Roll-Over Protection (ROPS) and Falling Object Protection (FOPS). There is also a new instrument cluster as part of the uprated in-cab operator environment.
