PD Port Services has won a two-year contract to handle, store and distribute industrial minerals for Kaltun Mining Company, one of Turkey’s largest businesses producing high quality, but low iron, soldium feldspar and quartz for use in the ceramics, glass and composite stone industries.
Kaltun had been seeking a quality logistics route so that it could serve major players in the UK glass and ceramics sector. Hilde Dahle, adviser to the board and in charge of Kaltun’s north European sales and marketing, explains: “We were looking for an experienced and competent logistics partner capable of providing an integrated range of services including stevedoring, customs clearance, warehousing and onward road transport of our product. PD Port Services fitted the bill perfectly.”
