The project management of a new purpose-built 12,170sq m, 11m high warehouse for Pirelli UK Tyres has been completed by sbh.uk on time in just 28 weeks. Sited next to the existing tyre factory in Carlisle, the property has been let to Pirelli by Gleeson Properties on a 13-year lease, with a base rent of £39.07 per sq m.
The warehouse has capacity to store up to 350,000 tyres for the sports utility market, 70% of which will be distributed direct to mainland Europe. The facility has seven loading and access doors with automatic boom conveyors to ensure fast loading and shipment.
