Colliers CRE, acting for HM Prison Service has sold the 93,000sq m Branston distribution centre at Burton-upon-Trent to Astral Developments for £25.3M, reflecting a yield of 7.5%. The distribution centre is let to DIY retailer B&Q on a new 15-year lease at a rent of £2M annually.
The site also benefits from an outline planning consent granted by East Staffordshire Borough Council for a mixed use Urban Village providing 500 residential units and commercial uses. Distribution firm takes five warehouses
Logistics management company Caretakers has extended its distribution facilities at Doncaster with a move into five warehousing units, totalling 5,000sq m, near the A1. The development represents double the space which Caretakers held at Doncaster, and is an indication of the reputation which Caretakers has built up in its core service of handling, storing and distributing fragile and awkward goods.
The new premises will enable the company to operate more efficiently in terms of goods flow, and will also mean that it can extend its storage facilities for customers.
