Linde Material Handling (UK) now offers a single, dedicated point of customer contact which has led to improved efficiency as well as a “dramatic increase in uptime”.
The new Linde Contract Management (LCM) facility enables UK customers with multiple sites to outsource day-to-day and strategic management of all their mobile material handling fleet for a pre-determined period, and at a set fee. Linde takes on the ownership – either purchased or leased – of the whole customer fleet including other truck makes. It takes responsibility for servicing, upgrading and replacing the vehicles.
One of the stages incorporated into the Contract Management process involves data cleansing where information from different IT systems are checked and amalgamated for each new customer. The customer is then set up on the Linde system so that movement of trucks can be policed, uptime monitored, deliveries checked and inefficiencies identified.
If a truck is not performing to capacity or is out of service, it will be replaced with a more appropriate model.
Linde says contract management is “the future of materials handling” and the UK leads the way – some 70-80% of mobile equipment in the UK is leased.
