Powered pallet racking systems have been added to SSI Schaefer’s extensive product offering. Providing space gains of 50% or more over conventional wide-aisle racking systems, mobile racking versions can, says Schaefer, dramatically reduce the size of building needed if companies are looking to relocate or construct new premises. Capable of accommodating bay loadings up to 24,000kg, individual aisles can be accessed, as required, by forklift or reach truck, either by remote control or at the touch of a button.
SSI Schaefer’s mobile racking systems come complete with access monitoring and early acoustic / visual warning alarm devices. Light barriers are also mounted in each aisle to provide further protection for operatives. When the light beam is interrupted, the powered mobile base comes to an automatic halt. An emergency stop feature is also fitted as standard.
Cold store mobile racking systems are also available, the first installation of which is being installed at a new deep freeze food facility in Germany.
