Considerable expansion is planned at overnight palletised distribution network PalletFORCE’s central hub on Fradley Park Estate near Lichfield, Staffordshire. The larger hub will give the company 11,160sq m of floor space with extensive parking facilities.
The “Drive Through” operation, on a site owned by the Evans Property Group, is designed to cope with the continued level of high growth that PalletFORCE has experienced since its launch two years ago and to handle more than double the current throughput of more than 3,000 pallets a night.
Mick Scarlett, the company’s chief executive, says: “This is a major investment that reflects the increase in throughput that the network is achieving. With our membership, we have put a lot of effort into maintaining and enhancing the central hub’s service levels, with good results.”
