The Government says it will not intervene in the planning decision concerning the latest expansion proposals for the DIRFT Logistics Park.. The decision means that Daventry District Council (DDC) can formally grant consent, following the planning committee’s resolution earlier this year to approve the scheme.
The expansion plans at DIRFT involve 54 hectares of land west of the existing 150 hectare logistics park. The key element of the new proposals is that more than 90% of the 180,000sq m distribution and manufacturing floorspace will be capable of direct rail connection to the existing Daventry International Railport.
The matter was referred to the Government because the outline planning application was a departure from the adopted Local Plan. The Government had to decide whether to hold a public inquiry or allow the local authority to proceed.
