Logistics services provider Kuehne & Nagel’s (K&N) contract with FLS Aerospace has been renewed for a further three years. The deal involves KN Aviation Logistics (KNAL) providing optimised, assembled and consolidated freight management activities to FLS, a world supplier of aircraft maintenance and engineering services.
Kuehne & Nagel created KNAL to meet the needs of the airline industry. KNAL provides 24-hour, seven days a week coverage to help reduce both costs and downtime of expensive aircraft assets.
FLS uses K&N’s performance monitoring and reporting services to give it high visibility on costs and spend for both imported and exported goods. Brian Sheridan, group manager vendor management at FLS, says: “The success of our product delivery within the aircraft maintenance sector is dependent on top class logistics and distribution. Through our freight management initiative, which we have developed in partnership with Kuehne & Nagel over the past three years, FLS Aerospace has simplified procedures with its vendors and has made significant improvements in cost control and service.”
