“One Way Trip” pallet pool specialist LPR has contracted TDG to provide logistics services to support its UK pallet distribution network. The £12.5M, five-year deal sees TDG managing the transport planning and collection of LPR pallets from regional distribution centres (RDCs) and non-RDCs, as well as coordinating pallet inspection and sortation prior to re-issue.
TDG will manage the operation from its Stretton site, with the Northfleet facility forming the southern hub and additional satellite hubs at Mossend, Pocklington, Bardon and Swindon ensuring complete UK coverage. LPR says that its further penetration of the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector will be helped by the new agreement with the third-party logistics firm.
The second deal is with specialist chemicals and cleaning solutions manufacturer Gramos Applied which has awarded a £6M, five-year contract to TDG European Chemicals. The deal entails TDG taking over Gramos Applied’s full warehousing operation, including pick and pack, and delivering product using its ADR next-day pallet network.
The pick and pack operation is based at TDG’s 33,480sq m SHE (Safety, Health, Environment) compliant warehouse at Acton Grange, Warrington. The warehouse will receive goods from Gramos’ production plant in Smethick and from external suppliers in mainland Europe.
