Foodservice wholesale distributor 3663 has continued its association with Thermo King by selecting the manufacturer’s direct drive refrigeration units for its temperature-controlled fleet. The company has ordered 15 V-500 MAX units from Thermo King, having only recently taken on six of the new A-1050 alternator driven units.
The V-500 MAX units are fitted to Mercedes-Benz Sprinters which carry frozen and chilled goods on 3663’s emergency delivery operation, where goods are delivered to customers’ premises at a moment’s notice.
Commenting on selecting the direct drive units Graham Rennie, 3663’s fleet controller, says: “We prefer direct drive over traditional diesel refrigeration units, as they are more environmentally-friendly, and quieter ? an important factor as most of our deliveries are in urban areas.”
