New Forest Ice Cream (NFIC) has selected integrated storage and materials handling solutions company Locators to provide a complete racking installation at its new site on Southampton’s Hounsdown Industrial Estate. Won on competitive tender, Locators designed, specified and supplied all the storage equipment as well as a Toyota 6FBRE electric reach truck.
Following in-depth consultations and detailed site surveys, Locators proposed a cost-effective solution tailored to each element of NFIC’s requirements. This included a complete fit-out of the 1,116sq m warehouse to provide a pallet racking system for 450 pallet locations including 200 locations within the cold storage unit. The racking feature column and end of run guards.
A special shelving system was also installed for holding marketing materials.
Locators says all items were delivered and installed within “an extremely tight time frame”, enabling NFIC to move seamlessly from its old Totton, Southampton headquarters to the new site.
Locators is one of several storage and materials handling solutions specialists exhibiting at Logistics Link 2004, which takes place on February 3 and 4 at Sandown Park, Esher, Surrey. Further information is available from Richard Milbourn on 020 8661 1160 or visit www.logisticslink.co.uk.
