SEMA, the Storage Equipment Manufacturer’s Association, will hold its third annual safety conference on November 3, 2005. The title and underlying theme of the event will be “Manage your Risk” and is supported by papers carefully selected to address this subject. Presentations will include an overview of the new Working at Height Regulations and how this legislation should be managed, the proposed introduction of the Corporate Killing bill and what this may mean for directors and other key staff and how the RIDDOR (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations) legislation is being reformed and its implications for the industry.
Chris Humphreys, SEMA marketing committee chairman, comments: “Never before has the pressure on industry been greater to comply with health and safety legislation”. He also goes on to say: “Our aim, with this conference, is to inform the storage industry in the UK about legislation, directives and initiatives which affect all industry players, including manufacturers, distributors, installers and end users.”
