Nisa -Today’s, one of the UK’s largest independent buying consortium, has installed AquiTec’s SCM/400 warehouse management software at its 13,950sq m temperature-controlled distribution centre for chilled and frozen products in Stoke-on-Trent. The development completes the company’s roll-out of AquiTec’s solution across its three regional distribution centres – Stoke-on-Trent, Harlow and Scunthorpe – which serve 6,000-plus convenience stores across the UK.
AquiTec’s ability to manage pick-by-line for chilled and frozen products for multiple customers was a key factor in the decision to standardize on the company’s platform across all three sites; AquiTec’s market-leading functionality is allowing Nisa-Today to improve ordering accuracy, minimise stock held and maximise warehouse space, to deliver a key market advantage to its customers, with a vast choice of reliable, high-quality fresh foods at a competitive price. “AquiTec has exceeded expectation with its functional product that has been easy to install and actually works,” comments Stephen Hunter, managing director of logistics at Nisa-Today’s. “Also, AquiTec’s ability to manage the back-to-back delivery and despatch of goods in a non-stocked environment has been fundamental to the success of our premier service.”
