Rigid Corrugated has opened a new warehouse and logistics centre at its Desborough site.
Following the recent commissioning of new production and distribution facilities in Selby, the new unit is designed to further underpin Rigid’s work in supply chain management, increasing storage capacity to 10,000 pallets. Chris Trevithick, sales director, commented: “This marks another major milestone for Rigid and completes the latest investment phase in Northamptonshire aimed at strengthening our Desborough manufacturing and storage facilities.”
Rigid is acknowledged to have been the first company in its field to truly focus on offering an efficient supply chain management service. Trevithick also goes on to say that: “The strategic locations of our two current plants – with other sites under review – ensures our growing UK wide customer base can benefit from these two sophisticated manufacturing and logistics centres. Growing pressures on manufacturers and retailers, particularly in the food sectors, demand our products perform and are delivered on time.”
The major investment programme at Rigid Corrugated is backed by its parent – VPK Packaging Group.
