Printronix has launched its first Gen 2 RFID printers with its SmartLine product families and introduces a six-inch RFID printer as well. It reckons the new SL5000r MP2 and SLPA7000r MP2 will become the first RFID printer and printer applicator families designed to Gen 2 encoding specifications. Brad Jarvis, director of product marketing says: “By incorporating an embedded Gen 2-certified reader module, with our new patented multi-position RF coupling device and advanced RF firmware, we’re giving users peace of mind that their MP2 encoding technology is compliant with EPCglobal standards.”
